Great Big Game Show: A Live Game Show Where You Are the Contestant!

Get ready for the ultimate game night

Our family recently crossed off another item from our family bucket list!

As a family of five that consists of a middle-schooler and two high schoolers (one, a HS senior), we try to take advantage of the time that we have to spend together. One way we do this is by having a family game night. We cook a special meal, pull out the board and card games and play until midnight.

Unfortunately, it's been a long time since we've had a game night due to extracurricular engagements and lately, we've all been craving some much-needed family bonding. And what better way to do that is to re-start family game night, but this time, let's upgrade our night in a BIG way.

Last week, we've had the opportunity to live out a life-long dream of being on a live game show, and not just any game show- a Great Big Game Show, located in Short Pump.

Great Big Game Show flips the script: instead of watching a game show, you become the contestant. It’s fast, funny, and built for groups who want something different from the usual family or friend outing.

How to Play

Groups of up to 14 people will be split into two teams and go head-to-head in 5-7 of our 17+ rotating mini-games and battle it out for the highest score. Each session runs about an hour and moves quickly through a mix of trivia, physical challenges, strategy rounds, and buzzer‑beating moments. A live host keeps the energy high, and the setup looks like a real TV game show with podiums, lights, sound cues and buzzers. It’s also fully wheelchair accessible and doesn’t require running, climbing, or physical strain, making it a good fit for mixed‑ability groups.

Our Great Big Game Show Experience

We decided to do a kids versus parents' session. We were paired up with Katie, our live game show host, and played about 6-7 games that included building towers, solving puzzles and trivia questions. It was an adrenaline rush from start to finish!

The parents came out on top, but the kids kept it close and were ahead for a good stretch.

Overall, our experience at Great Big Game Show was exceptional. The staff was kind, professional and upbeat, and Katie was a fantastic game show host. If you’re looking for a true game‑night experience that gets everyone involved, Great Big Game Show is the place to go!
