Henrico County is gearing up for a historic celebration as July 4, 2026 marks the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence and the 250th birthday of the United States. With a milestone this big, one day simply isn’t enough. Henrico Recreation & Parks is hosting A Henrico Fourth, a two‑day, family‑friendly celebration across two beloved parks: Dorey Park on July 3 and Crump Park on July 4.
Friday, July 3 – Dorey Park (7:00 PM - 10:00 PM)

Gates open at 6:00 PM with free admission and parking, welcoming families, friends, and community groups for an evening of music, food, and patriotic fun. The night kicks off at 7:00 PM with a welcome, the National Anthem, and a performance by 5Starr, followed by Plunky & the Oneness at 8:30 PM. At 9:45 PM, the sky lights up with a dazzling Fireworks & Laser Light Show Finale. Guests can also enjoy a Hot Air Balloon display presented by Henrico Federal Credit Union.
Food lovers will find plenty to enjoy with concessions from Auntie Alices, Cocina Calle, Fireside Pizza, Flavor Fusion, Mimi’s Ice & Custard, Pluto’s Hot Dogs, and more.
Saturday, July 4 – Crump Park (6:00 PM - 10:00 PM)

Crump Park opens at 5:00 PM for another evening of celebration with a laser‑light finale instead of fireworks. The event begins at 6:00 PM with performances from JTucker & The Krewe, Justin Golden with Devil’s Coattails, and a special welcome at 8 PM. The Richmond Symphony, joined by Desiree Roots and the Gospel Workshop of America’s Goochland Chapter, will perform throughout the evening, leading into the 9:30 PM laser‑light show.
Families can explore the Kids Zone from 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM, featuring face painting, bounce houses, stilt walkers, juggling, and more. The History Area brings the nation’s founding to life with interpreters portraying figures like Betsy Ross, John Adams, and Marquis de Lafayette, plus Revolutionary War reenactors, firing demonstrations, blacksmithing, and historic displays.
Concessions include favorites like Kona Ice, Mr. Q’s BBQ, Papa John’s, Pop’s Kettle Corn, and Wild Bill’s Soda.
Know Before You Go
Both events are designed to be welcoming and enjoyable for all ages. Guests may bring water, blankets, chairs, sunscreen, and outside food. Items such as alcohol, tents, drones, sparklers, and large coolers are not permitted. Carpooling is encouraged, and accessible parking and restrooms will be available.
