Help Bring Fruit & Veggie Week to Life in Richmond Public Schools

February 15, 2026

Greater Richmond Fit4Kids is gearing up for one of its biggest and most joyful events of the year: Fruit & Veggie Week, happening March 24–27 in Richmond Public Schools.

Fit4Kids is a Richmond‑based nonprofit dedicated to improving children’s health and wellness through physical activity and healthy eating. Their work shows up in classrooms, cafeterias, gardens, and after‑school programs across the region. Fruit & Veggie Week is one of the most hands‑on ways families and community members can get involved.

During this four‑day celebration, RPS elementary students will taste four delicious fruit and veggie packed dishes, learn about the nutritional benefits of each, and vote on their favorite. The winning recipe may even make its way onto future cafeteria menus, giving students a real voice in shaping what they eat at school.

To make this event a success, Greater Richmond Fit4Kids is seeking volunteers to help prep and serve the tasting dishes. This is a fun, high‑energy opportunity to support healthy habits, cheer on young taste‑testers, and be part of something that directly impacts student wellness.

If you’d like to help or know someone who would, please share the volunteer link and spread the word throughout the community. Every extra set of hands makes a difference.
